You know what day it is!
Bird of the week started on a whiteboard at Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument in July 2024. Every Monday (give or take), I drew a bird on the office board accompanied by some fun facts in the all-staff chat. This went for 5 months, until my temporary position at the monument came to an end. I had so much fun creating the bird every week, hearing feedback from my coworkers about the drawings, learning more about native birds, and exercising interpretive writing skills that I didn't want it to end! Bird of the week has now gone virtual as I transition to a new park site. I hope to continue refining my drawing and writing skills, and keep in touch with the great people I meet as I move across the country. Explore the original Bird of the Week drawings below, or search for digital drawings here.
See you Monday!
